i've been here for 4 days.. but it seems very long somehow..
dunnoe how to explain it.. maybe coz i'm busy doing something everyday, it seems that so much has been done that it doesn't feel like its been just 4 days..
The trip here
if you look at the time, i only travelled for 1 and a half hrs.. haha.. reached Kingston at 1.30 am on Monday,3rd Jan.. the journey actually took like 25 and a half hrs...the front part was alright..
managed to get a lil sleep on the way to frankfurt.. (read the cards, letters, calender i got on the plane... =) nearly teared at some parts.. thanks my dears..) but after that, my stubborn and stupid self.. still hung up about paying so much for the air tic, refused to sleep on the plane.. to "make full use of the plane's facilities" *rolls eyes* bad decision... the 6 hr transit at new york later was terrible.. =/ 1stly, we made the wrong decision of checking ourselves in so early.. we checked in our luggage first.. coz it was all so heavy.. and after that we just "naturally" checked ourselves in...in the small, boring domestic airport.. jet lagged and nothing to entertain us.... all we wanted to do was sleep.. (we couldn't even play 3 straight games of dai di..=/ ) but we didn't dare.. coz we had quite a lot of hand carry... so afraid that our stuff would get stolen.. had to sorta take turns to get some sleep.... pure torture... the only thing good about that airport was burger king fries.. haha..=D serious!! they are like long john's fries, but with a thinner layer of flour around them.. served piping hot.. absolutely delicious.. =) mwahahaha..neways, after that.. took this real small domestic flight.. that has (4x12, 48) seats.. it was so small, even i can be a air stewardess.. haha.. i mean i can reach all the way into the overhead cabins lor.. and sheun, who is about 168cm hit her head against the overhead cabin... =P haha.. ah wells... neway, when i stepped out of Toronto airport there was only 2 thoughts in my head.. "Man! its cold!!!!" and "i'm hungry!!" Slept all the way in the coach from Toronto to Kingston..
neway, my first night in Kingston was spent bunking in Sheun's room.. coz they didn't have my keys!!! but seriously, other than the trouble of having to go down to the front desk (which is in another hall about 3 streets away) to get my keys again.. i didn't mind bunking in..the floor's uncomfortable alright.. but at least its not as lonely.. in an entirely new place...
Settling in Kingston, Tues, Wed..
ah wells, the past few days have been busy busy.. trying to get all the admin stuff done and all...
really thank God that there are so many Singaporeans here.. =) there are like 11 now! two girls are from NUS.. its fun.. exploring the place together.. getting things done together..
we are like one of the few ppl back in hostel though..think most ppl are coming in during the weekend.. a few canadians have moved in... one guy invited us to go with his friends to watch the ice hockey match junior finals.. canada vs. russia... was so keen!!! reminded me of watching Rugby world cup finals with nik and claire at this irish pub.. the atmostphere is crazy!!!there were both aussie and eng supporters.. and the buzz of energy in the place was incredible.. haha.. =D haiyah.. but after saying so much we didn't go.. think its our 1st night and we don't really know him, e rest wasn't really keen.. hai~... but they'd be other times lah... i'm sure... i hope that the locals in this hall are friendly.. i do wanna get to know more exchange students and locals.. that's the whole exchange experience what..anyways, went to walmart yesterday too.. haha.. finally.. to the place where we always hear about in marketing... very much like carrefour actually... and nothing in Canada is really cheap lah... so.... so much about Walmart having the cheapest prices around...Food in Singpore is still the cheapest.. no matter cooked, raw or dry...
oh and i saw my first snow flakes.. just outside my window!!! so beautiful!!! =) woke my frens up to ask them to take photos with me..wahahahaha.. =D
Today
Finally got internet connection!!! wahahhaha!!! =D went online like immediately... skype sucks..couldn't use it to talk to my family.. but they called in the end.. happy to hear their voices.. =) spoke to some of you.. =) just made my day... it snowed even more heavily.. yesterday was like a very very light 1 hr drizzle.. today's like rain.. ice rain.. God's beautiful manisfestation of rain... =) the whole ground was covered with snow!!! so pure white and beautiful... will upload photos later... =) beautiful day.. its actually much warmer when it snows than before or after snow.. my nose and eyes didn't become numb as they were the 2 days before.. but i forsee a very cold day tmr.. when all the snow melts.. just hope there isn't much wind.. the cold is fine.. but the wind is horrible... ok... been a darn long and hard entry to read.. many apologies.. =/ will upload photos soon...(once i figure out how... =P)
