ok.. From the request of my most ardent fan Weijia.. =P comes this next blog.. wahahaha.. =D
have been pretty busy.. not much time to blog.. hmm.. now must recall events dating 5 days....
Thurs
There is this thing going on in commerce that has an exchange student attached to a buddy who is a senior in commerce.. well, so supposed to meet our buddy on thurs night.. went to this girl's house first where we all sorta just hung out and talked.. etc.. the exchange students came first, so we could interact.. then the seniors.. neway, they said food (i.e. snacks..) will be provided, but bring your own drinks.. at first i thought, well.. i'm not really thirsty, so don't need to bring anything... then as i entered the house, realised that no singaporeans brought any drinks..felt a bit paiseh, so went to get like big bottles of soft drinks from the convenience store.. turns out.. bring your own drinks meant alcoholic drinks of individual proportions.. yup.. so in e end, only like a few of us drank the soft drinks i got.. all the ang mohs like got bottles of bear and all that on their own.. ah wells.. the cultural difference..
Sat
For all of you out there worried that I'd become a big fat pig when i come back..(eh benii.. ;P) Rest assured.. you'd recognise me.. wahaha... i went to the gym!!!! felt so shiok after the run... whoo hoo!!!=D so well... i'd be a fat girl when i get back.. not a fat pig.. heh...
after that, went downtown for some retail theraphy... things here are EXPENSIVE man.. guess what kinda clothes they sell in downtown..(btw, downtown here is a 15 mins walk away and its not like orchard road.. its looks a lil rundown, old.. all that...) anyways, they sell stuff like Gap, Miss Sixites, Surf Brands and all sorts of expensive street wear brands that I don't recognise.. Its those kinda stuff that looks real good but you know you can't afford even after 50% discount.. (esp more so if you keep converting the CAN$ into SGD$).. but still.. window shopping is good.. heh.. bought a few t-shirts for bout $10 each in the end.. (they're pretty nice really for this kinda price) yup.. coz i only brought 2 t-shirts here and since i'm determined to go to the gym regularly (yes yes benii.. i DO wanna go regularly... haha.. in fact just went again on monday despite achey calves) i'd need more! okies okies.. neway after that caught Meet the Fockers.. coz i wanted to see how the local cinema was like.. not as dingy and i thought tho most locals mentioned before that this is the small, not so nice one..

Went to a new church today.. Bethel church.. Service is more similar to Glory Pres. than United Church which i went last week... this church had like a lotta young ppl.. most of them Queen's University students.. there were like a lotta Asians too.. which suprised me quite a bit.. i mean.. we are in Canada you know.... now i'm wondering if there are a higher population of Asian Christians than of Caucasian christian.. for youths anyway........wells, the speaker this week was from another church.. so shall go again and hear from the pastors of the church emselves..
There was a pot luck at hostel too.. heh.. ate my heart out!!! wahaha... had food from so many countries! black pudding(which is like a meat loaf made up of pigs innards.. a irish dish i think.. it sounds gross but tastes good actually), fried mars bars(the great invention of he scottish.. had to resist taking another one!), salmon that is smoked in maple(don't ask me how... it just tasted good.. heh..), salmon cooked in maple syrup, moose meat(that was hunted by the cook's father himself), maple candy.. all these foods are from Quebec.. They are part of Canada, but is really diff from the majority of Canada.. its like the Canadian French province.. Maple syrup is a big business there with maple plantations and all..and the people there still hunt as a sport and for food..using gun powder guns or bow&arrows.. come on.. like how cool right? in canda?? oh man... anways.. hence the moose meat.. there was deer too but i didn't get to taste that.. its like such a unique part of canada.. i can't wait to go visit one day.. the guy from Quebec is Jerome and you can hear from his voice that he is diff from most canadians coz his french accent is so heavy.. according to Laura, one of the canadian hall mates, Quebec has been trying to gain independence for itself for many years now.. the last vote for independence just lost by like a really small margin.. like 2-5%.. yup.. will definately go check it out.. maybe in April.. that's when maple syrup is harvested.. maybe can go visit maple farms!
After potluck, went for Power and Praise in Bethel.. which is like Prayer and Praise in GPC.. just that they don't do too much of the prayer, which i rather have more.. but still... it was good to praise the Lord in His house.. It feels so good to be in God's house again really.. and to sing His praises with His people.. Out of all the worship songs, which were all contemporary, i only knew 2.. but it didn't matter.. coz i just read and absorbed the lyrics of the other songs.. they were so beautiful and i felt to undeservingly loved by Him.. Its really so easy to just fall away from Him here.. there's not much christian support... and when we're not serving Him like in the church, it makes it harder to stay focused on Him.. yes.. we can serve Him in many other ways too.. and we should.. in our daily lives.. by serving others.. by walking in His ways.. but serving Him in church, being around christian support helps a lot to focus on that... now that i'm here.. i realised that i need to depend on Him a lot more.. that I need to really learn the true meaning of having God is enough.....I miss GPC, i miss serving in church.... YF, sunday service, the christian support i get........
well... i think that's nuff for one entry.. will write again...
Happy TWENTY-FIRST Adel and Jo!!! *hug* did you all have a crazy time? (Adel! never reply my msg! =/) sorry I couldn't be there... forgive me k? miss and love u girls loads....
btw.. temp. was crazy today.. minus 20.. felt my nose icing up coz i breathed through them.. =/ think some of the vapour from my breath just froze when they met the cold air... wwaaahhhhh.. i hope it doesn't get worse!!
