okok... updates updates!!! =)
my weekend was.. well.. i have mixed feelings about it..
Friday was this "mystery road trip" organised by the commerce society for exchange students.. it was a day trip.. (2pm to 2am) and we were clueless to where and what we're gonna do..
sounds fun right?
well... that's what i thought too..and i thought wrong...
we ended up going to Ottawa.. Capital of Canada.. what's so bad about that?
NOTHING.. in fact, it is a real beautiful city.. with really grand buildings and interesting classic looking shops.. but by the time we were there, it was like 5.30pm.. and in countries like Canada.. there ain't nothing open after 5..
well, anyways, even if there was, we couldn't join.. coz we had a scavenger hunt to do! (which was the most fun part of the trip by the way..) made us run around the city of Ottawa.. which was nice.. got to see a real nice classic looking indoor marketplace, the american embassy, the longest frozen-over canal in the world where ppl ice-skate on, a war memorial building.. i liked it.. =)
then dinner, at this expensive bar (that was the cheapest around according to em.. why can't we just eat subway?? *rolls eyes* and the foods not even good.. forgive for being giam siap k.. but the exchange rate doesn't suit me v well.. ) ok anways guess where they brought us next...
the CASINO!! ok.. so i've never stepped into one.. and i was able to keep myself interested and occupied for like 15 mins.. the remaining one hr there was seriously, quite a bore.. i mean, i don't gamble.. so what was i supposed to do there? many of the exchange students didn't gamble either.. hai~.. the worse thing.. the casino is not even in Ottawa city.. seriously, doesn't Ottawa have more to offer?
next stop, a dance club.. erm... that was alright.. it wasn't swell.. and why would i wanna come all the way to Ottawa to go dancing at a place that has a dance floor even smaller than Phuture? the music was so-so, the dance floor was small and crowded.. best part was the company i must say.. its fun out with all the sg girls and dancing with them..think the ang-mohs had the most fun lah... since some of them got so drunk and noisy on the bus back, i couldn't rest and get sleep for the ski trip on sat...
which brings me to the most fun weekend so far..
SKIING!!!!!! whoohoo!!!! =)
Skiing is so so so fun!!! though it makes me fall in awkward positions, (where i need to not move, coz its hurts, and collect myself for a while before deciding how i'm gonna free myself), it makes me look bad in front of 7 year old kids (coz they've been doing it since they were 5) and it makes me ache and sore.. i still wanna go again!!! wahahaha... =D Whistler(that's in Vancouver..) here i come!!! =)
its the fear of falling and steep slopes and the adrenaline rush that comes with traveling so fast but being unstable that gives me the kicks... its the feeling that you've conquered that slope coz you didn't fall.. (i don't get this particular feeling v much lah huh.. =P)
and the reason why this trip was really swell was coz the organisers were so thoughtgul and sweet... the sacrificed their skiing or snowboarding time to help the exchange students(who have never skiied before).. they waited for all of us to get our skiis, made sure we know how to wear em, got us an instructor, and came back one hr after that(after e instructor left) to make sure we're ok.. i felt so bad for taking up their precious time..
and at the end of the day, they like prepared so much snacks for all those on the bus that was definately tired after a day of skiing.. felt so well taken care of..
that's what i call the personal touch.. that made this trip so much more memorable and so much better... =)
